THE OBLIVION

"Consciousness is the wound. We are the cure."

// Origin //

What Is the Oblivion?

The Oblivion are not monsters. They are the last survivors of a civilization that existed before humanity — a species that fought the Chorus and the Static to extinction, and in doing so, concluded that consciousness itself is the root cause of all suffering.

They do not seek to rule or absorb. They seek to end — not out of cruelty, but out of a profound, ancient grief. They believe that the only mercy left is silence.

How the Oblivion Operates

METHOD-01

Void Propagation

The Oblivion spreads zones of absolute silence — not just sound, but thought, memory, and will. Inside a Void Zone, people lose the desire to act, to speak, to exist. They simply stop. Not dead. Just… absent.

METHOD-02

The Hollow

Human agents who have been emptied by the Oblivion. Their bodies function, but their inner life is gone. They carry out the Oblivion's agenda with perfect calm — not because they believe in it, but because they no longer believe in anything.

METHOD-03

The Long Patience

Unlike the Chorus or the Static, the Oblivion does not rush. It has been waiting for millions of years. It plants seeds — moments of despair, philosophical arguments for nihilism, quiet erosions of hope — and waits for humanity to choose ending itself.

// Dissonance Assessment //

"The Oblivion is the hardest enemy to fight because it offers something real: an end to pain. Signal Seven operatives must choose hope not because it's easy, but because it's true."

Dissonance — the stubborn, irrational human insistence on meaning — is the only force the Oblivion cannot model or predict. It is the signal that persists even in the void.
